In 2009, ABATE of Colorado was approached by one of our RiderCoaches about sponsoring him as a racer. We saw a good opportunity to reach out to Sport Bike riders, let them meet us and know who we are and what we do so was born the sponsorship of Motorcycle Racing Association’s #168, Jon Kuo.

In 2010 we scheduled ABATE Weekend at the Races, with a BBQ for the racers.  We also had fellow rider coaches Kevin Finnegan & John Mere sport the ABATE racing logo.  2011 finds ABATE more involved with racing than ever.  We are sponsoring Jon Kuo #168, Kevin Finnegan #173 and Jim Wilson #29.

Kevin Finnegan #173

Jim Wilson #29

We lost team member John Mere due to a move out of state.  ABATE will once again host a Weekend at the Races in Byers and Pueblo.  We look forward to working once again with the MRA in 2011. We invite you out to the races see what it’s all about. You'll have a blast!! Check out the dates and links below for more information.

In 2007, Colorado had an assessment done by the National Highway Traffic Safety Admin. of the motorcycle program in Colorado.  ABATE was contacted by CDOT and we invited members from the Colorado Sportbike Club to attend with a safety presentation.  We met Ralph and Scott.  These gentlemen are associated with a group called Chicane Track days.  Chicane Track days was born out of the idea that sportbike riders in Colorado should have a place to go where they have an opportunity to use the capabilities of their machines in a safe and legal environment. Each day is carefully arranged to make this idea a reality. Trained track staff, emergency medical services and instructors are available at each event to increase your enjoyment of the day.  ABATE feels that this is an important program for the safety of riders.  We will be working with Scott in 2010 by helping sponsor a couple of track days in Byers and Pueblo.  Keep checking back for the dates!
