Basic Rider Course The Basic Rider Course is approximately 15 hours in duration and designed with the new or unlicensed rider in mind. Motorcycles are provided for use in class. We begin with the most basic information on motorcycle controls and operation and continue to include modules on street strategies, obstacle avoidance and braking skills. Both the written and driving tests for the Colorado motorcycle endorsement are administered during the class. Recent bicycle riding experience is assumed. Class is open to scooter riders. Classes meet on Friday 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Sat & Sun 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Weekday classes are available at some locations. Starting times are definite, but ending times may be adjusted due to weather or class progress. Cost is $190.00 for Colorado residents ($235 for nonresidents). A valid State Issued ID, Colorado Drivers License or Motor Vehicle Instructional Permit, or Military ID is required for proof of residency. A parent or legal guardian must sign a waiver for students under 18 years of age. Effective July 1, 2004, the State of Colorado requires individuals under 18 years of age to hold an instructional motorcycle permit for one year before obtaining a full motorcycle endorsement. (Classes are open to scooter riders. Please call for more information.) |
If you have completed the Basic Rider Course (BRC) – passed or failed – and would like more training, you may be eligible for our (approximately) 6 hour Additional Riding Class. EXPERIENCED RIDER COURSE This one-day course is designed for the licensed rider with a year or more road experience and is conducted on your own motorcycle. Your motorcycle will be subject to a safety inspection. You must provide current registration and proof of insurance. A valid motorcycle license is required for enrollment. Completion of the basic course is not a prerequisite for this class. The course helps the experienced rider improve riding skills and increase riding enjoyment by developing the mental and physical skills found lacking in the accident involved rider. Many major insurance carriers recognize this course for discounts. Cost is $75.00 for Colorado residents ($110.00 for non-residents). Discounts may be available for groups of 12. This course is only available at some locations |
